Excited to start some ant colonies. I have a lot of experience with scorpions bit ants are somewhat new to me. I have two queens from Componotus Pennsylvanicus. Have them set up in test tubes. And a small colony about 20 plus queen of Prenolepis Impairs. I am trying to find some more interesting species in the western new york area.

Welcome to the forum!!!!!
Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.
However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:
Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).

Welcome to the forum. When writing out genus and species names, the genus is capitalized and species lowercase (just a standard in writing scientific names).
