Hi,

 

I was just wondering if anyone has caught/found T. immigrans pavement ants yet.  I know that early June is about when they begin to fly.

 

There's a colony that I have been monitoring which has been quite active in its nest construction over the past few days.  No flights yet, though.

I caught three queens in Pleasant View, Tennessee a few days ago.

Well, we're in the midst of a fairly heavy rainstorm where I'm at. I expect they'll be flying soon.

I'm not sure if any of mine are mated, but at least I got some this year.

 I caught three queens of this species a few weeks ago. But I'm central California.

I saw one winged queen on my patio Memorial Day weekend. It seemed too early though.

Yep, I think I’m having that same storm. For me, tetramorium immigrans flew LIKE MAD ANTS last year. For three weeks, I couldn’t go a day and not find at least five of them! They had their first nuptial flight on June 16th, and it occurred at 5:40 in the morning for me. You really can’t miss them Where I live! they flew the day after it rained and when they flew, I think I caught about 40.

Yup! June 16th is when I started seeing them, too. They weren't that dependent on rain either, though. Heat and humidity are enough to trigger them.
