Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.
However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:
Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).

Thanks! I'm heating them now, so hopefully their first worker will come this week! Each colony has one pupa, some larvae and eggs.

Pheidole bicarinata (Colony #1)
8-15-19
All four queens still doing great! They have a few larvae and pupae, lots of new eggs, and 15-20 workers. I am moving them into a cleaner tube right now.
Crematogaster cerasi (Colony #1)
8-15-19
Wow... There are constantly new eggs... Their huge brood pile is 14 times larger than the queen! The colony currently consists of a queen, about 75-80 workers and 500 brood of all stages (mostly pupae though!). They are being moved into a grout nest I made yesterday.
Formica pallidefullva (Colony #1)
8-15-19
They have about 30 workers, 100 brood (mostly eggs) and all three queens. They are being moved into a grout nest I made yesterday.
Camponotus pennslyvanicus (Colony #1)
8-15-19
They have 5-6 Camponotus chromaiodes workers along with the 50 or so pennslyvanicus workers. There is a bunch of brood, I'm guessing about 60 brood in all stages. Their first majors started to appear last month, but I must have missed it, because they have 4-5 majors, a bunch of medians, and most of their pupae are major and median pupae. The queens lays eggs every few days, and the colony takes crickets and honey every day. They are also being moved into a grout nest I made yesterday. @ANTdrew, this queen needs a name...

Ok. First off, I got rid of the Colobopsis obliqua colony, both to make room for a Pogonomyrmex occidentalis queen, and because I liked my impressa more.
Crematogaster cerasi (Colony #1)
8-20-19
There is a new pile of eggs. I can't tell how many there are, so I will post pictures later today or tomorrow. They are VERY protein demanding right now. Probably due to their insane amount of brood.
Colobopsis impressa (Colony #1)
8-20-19
More eggs and larvae. Hopefully they get workers this time. I have them some honey, and I'm going to leave them alone for a few weeks.

My buddy found me a new Crematogaster queen crawling on his dining room table!
She still has her wings, but she’s very chill, so I hope she’s mated.

From where? Apparently mine won’t ship until Friday.I ordered a Pogonomyrmex occidentalis queen! I'll update when she arrives.
#154 Offline - Posted August 21 2019 - 7:20 AM
I got it from Derpy. I might also get a Pogonomyrmex californicus queen or two, as he got a permit for that specific species.

Pogonomyrmex occidentalis (Colony #1)
8-23-19
She arrived today with 10 or so eggs and a good supply of seeds. These grow pretty quickly, so I am expecting workers in a month or so. She seems to be in perfect health as well.
Thanks, Derpy!
