Update: 3/27/21
Camponotus chromaiodes | colony #1
---------------------------------------------------
The colony has eclosed their first major worker of the year, decently sized at 10-12mm with a ~4.5mm wide head. The colony's brood pile has been growing insanely large, and it now spans (and nearly fills) their Discus, Fortress and homemade grout nest. Freya lays nearly round-clock, and there's always a huge pile of eggs in the nest. They've really started expanding into the Discus, with about 100-120 workers in there with several hundred eggs, larvae and pupae. The largest major pupa hasn't eclosed yet, but is darkening and should hatch any day now. I'm interested to see how big she'll really be!
