A small nanitic major, but yes. They also have a single median, and 3 minor workers.

Colobopsis obliqua (Colony #1)
6-19-19
There was a large flight of these last night and 2 queens were caught at my porch light! I put them in the same test tube. I'm hoping for more flights tonight.
Pheidole cf. tysoni (Colony #2)
6-19-19
Intermixed with a bunch of Brachyponera chinensis males, I found this new queen.
Pheidole cf. bicarinata (Colony #1)

Question about the Colobopsis obliqua, how long does founding normally take? Both queens kept their wings btw.

Found another Colobopsis obliqua queen in a light fixture. I spent almost 2 hours trying to fish her out with a twig. I almost gave up, but I got her!

Monomorium minimum (Colony #1)
6-20-19
Now I know why not many people keep these.... There are a few thousand too many brood.... They eat a ton of protein right now, as most of their brood is larvae. They are in need of a new nest...

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.
However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:
Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).

Camponotus chromaiodes (Colony #3)
6-21-19
They now have 10 workers and around 30 brood in all stages. They have one pupa in particular that is quite large. Maybe a median?

hey ANTdrew, should we bow to our overwhelming superior or just rob his stash of queens when he's going climbing up 50 foot trees for colobopsis

honestly though, how does one even find this many ants, none the less catches about 2 more colonies everyday... Do you look in about 5 forests everyday or something
