That's only half the egg pile, and an eighth of the actual brood pile.

Long live Freya!

Two years (in my care. Her colony is actually closer to 3 years. I found her and her nanitics in a small rotted stick) and still going strong.

Mine is two years old ( I got her off GAN, and the farmer was new, but knew what he was doing. None of that 12 week lasius stuff), so I figured I'll take her (over the subbarbatus because Pennsylvanicus), and she's a amazing queen.

Sure she's around the healthy worker count, but she'll flourish with me (we get along way better than my Formica queen) lol

I did that too once. It was a small tree, only about 10 feet tall and about 3" in diameter. I got an Aphaenogaster lamellidens colony from it (the tree was long dead).

Yeah, I know. It was a small manzanita. Saw Pseudomyrmex for the first time and got excited.

Crematogaster lineolata (Colony #1)
2-28-20

Their over-wintered larvae have resumed growth, with some being pupae already. They have a huge appetite, and are working on a few large mealworms right now.

Crematogaster lineolata (Colony #2)
2-28-20

I found this new queen inside of a small stick in the woods. I will update on her when she lays eggs.

Lasius queen (Colony #1)
2-28-20

Oh well. She's dead.
