Those are some cool ants. Can you recount how and when you found the queen? My New Year’s resolution for 2020 is to find Pheidole!

She was on my blacklight on June 3rd. They fly on warm and humid nights from June through August.

Pheidole bicarinata (Colony #1)
12-22-19

We have pupae! They got a whole cricket last night before I went to bed, and when I checked today the entire cricket had been processed, and their larvae had doubled in size! Small die off, now at 65-70 workers. Plenty of brood though.

Aphaenogaster tennesseensis (Colony #1)
12-22-19

They have a small larva now, and 9 eggs. The hosts still don't suspect a thing...

Crematogaster ashmeadi flights today. Caught one queen, but saw many more. I'll look for founding chambers tomorrow.
