1. Location (on a map) of collection: Ambler, Pennsylvania
2. Date of collection: May 19, 2019
3. Habitat of collection: Residential complex with forested area
4. Length (from head to gaster): ~3.5-3.6 mm
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: Shiny black
6. Distinguishing characteristics: Closely resembles a Camponotus nearcticus minor worker, but much smaller. Seemed to have a rounded, blunt head.
7. Distinguishing behavior: Nothing out of the ordinary, she only appeared briefly, so I was unable to determine much about her behavior.
8. Nest description:

9. Nuptial flight time and date:

Colobopsis. IMO it looks more like mississippiensis than impressa but could be either one. Looks like neither have records in PA but mississippiensis has been collected very close by in New Jersey and impressa has been collected in Maryland.

There used to be a Colobopsis mississippiensis colony in a tree in my neighbor's yard that had to be cut down. I thought the population was completely gone—this is pleasantly surprising!
