Hey its Forest, it's been a while

 

I have a Formica pallidefulva queen that had her nanitics last year(2 of them) and after hibernation she layed 3 eggs and reached 5 workers which she has been at for over 2 months now, she has not layed any more eggs despite being fed honey, and peanut butter, i have left her alone for over a month with no eggs being layed either, is there anything else i can do to promote egg laying?

Formica in their second year should explode into the hundreds of workers when red properly. When I lived in Washington, I raised a Formica pacifica colony to maturity in 2 years. They are in their 4th year and have over 3000 workers and a ton of alates. Protein daily and sugar every other day is what they are being fed.
