I was going to start this journal a long time ago but I wanted to wait until something cool happened but any way I have in the past introduced a Lasius claviger queen to a Lasius claviger colony with about 15 workers or so and they kicked out their own queen with some of her workers latched onto her like they were trying to kill her and so far they have hibernated and now the Lasius claviger queen is laying eggs and there are now some small larva and some growing larva. I have always been excited to keep this species and I do have some more queens just not enough Lasius neoniger, I will try to get some L. neoniger pupa when they come from hibernating in the wild. I have been feeding them fruit flies and sugar water.

Cool! I have always wanted a parasitic queen.

I now have moved them by force after sitting their test tube burrowed into cotton which had mold and I could not see them and the queen sprayed her strong odors up my nose when I did this. I don't think she liked too much but it's for the better.

Yes, I took the wrong things to post into the image URL. It was my fault but it is fixed now.

Just woke up today and sadly all her workers were shriveled up but for some reason their antenna were still moving around like they were paralyzed. The queen is looking bad now too. Now I have no ants left because of my sisters darn ferret came over ant pulled the cotton out of the 5 test tubes I had of successful colonies. So maybe this year?

That "thing" can climb to unimaginable areas, I put them in a very high area too!

I still have Lasius claviger queens, maybe I can brood boost with pupa?

Ummm, ok this is weird! There are like 2-3 workers that are still fine but the ones that seem shriveled up and still moving their antenna around and a little leg movement... this is so strange, I don't even have any idea what is going on.
