Hey guys sorry I've had so many of these to post lately but I'm trying to learn so I don't have to bother y'all so much.

I came across a HUGE colony of these ants flipping logs to photograph salamanders! I didn't see any differences in size of any of the ants I saw just these. All about 5-6mm long I just quickly tried to put the log back as best I could and leave them alone but I captured 2 to try and ID

Found on 5/4

in Cecil County Maryland

in wooded flood plain near large stream (Conowingo Creek)

I wanna guess. My friend says Black Crazy Ants. I say Formica subsericea. Either of us right?

Formica subsericea. They fly from May to September, so keep a look out. They grow extremely quickly and are polymorphic, but not as much as Camponotus.
