Well, I'm not in Tennessee, but I am close. The only time I've seen Formica flights in South Carolina was when there was a male Formica pallidefulva was attracted to my porch light on June 16th of last year. I went to Texas for a week the next day, so I probably missed the rest of the flight.

Close enough to TN! We share over 100 species, so it works.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Most of the parasitic Formica spp. down in Tennessee begin their flights in May/June, and will continue to until the end of August. Keep an eye out for the popular species: Formica aserva and Formica exsectoides both fly in June-July, and Formica obscuriventris fly from June-August.
For slave raiders, keep an eye out for Formica rubicunda, who fly in June-July, and Formica pergandei, who fly in July-August.
