I’m worried I will run out of test tubes. I naught 60 a while ago. A few broke and I am using most now, . But I will most likely be out there tomorrow

I don't have any extras myself at the moment. Going to be catching stuff with my other invertebrate containers (because there'll be Scolopendra polymorpha and millipedes out too) till I can get some more.

Thanks,

I’m so excited but I don’t have any experience out there. Where are some good spots to go?

Hopefully I can get out there too! Isn’t there a heat wave passing through Cajon Pass and some nearby areas though.

Also this is the most people I have seen going to one place / hoping to go at the same time on the forum.
But I’m unsure where exactly I would go, can anybody point on a map / give a rough GPS coordinate, as all I got was 15 miles west of cajon pass/phelan which is not fairly specific.
My Ants:

Yea I was just going to ask that. All I see on the weather radar is rain in lake Los Angeles.

This sounds so exciting, I want to go. Too bad I’m on the opposite side of the continent where it’s rained just about every day this month.

Me too.

I really hope I could get there and find something as in full disclosure and truth, I never have caught a queen, I hardly have seen natives ants ever too. Just endless boards of Argentines infesting wherever I go, even finding a single worker ant that’s not a Argentine will make me so happy.

I mean at least you have flights there, Cali has been dry in flights as it’s desert has been until now.

Sell the extra as soon as you can. 60 queens is a lot to take care of. I learned the hard way, no more than 15 colonies max for me. Good luck!

Yeah I am heading out there tomorrow, though I do hope somebody found stuff so I can be confident-ish that I could find a queen.

You will rarely get a straight location on a public forum (or even through PM) if the people who have the experience don't know you very well. It is a bit maddening at times, and I'm currently picking through Google Maps (trying in vain to get older Accuweather radar readings of the rain from today) looking for a less-populated place where stuff might be found.

Smoke Tree Road might be where myself and another friend try tomorrow morning.

Thanks,

Arthroverts

Arthroverts,
I’m happy to live where I do. Diversity is through the roof, and I find cool queens right on my own patio. I hope you all find cool stuff today, though!

I think I will head out by Pinon Hills / Cajon Pass, I believe people have found stuff like Pheidole, Camponotus, Veromessor, and pots round Pinon on the forum. From what I recall they were found by dspdrew and Nurbs from what I see in the search bar.
