Nothing will fly until it rains. That is IF it rains. Fingers crossed though!

Remember what it was like back in the days when the desert used to get rain in the summer? Looks like nobody's getting anything this season.

I got a good amount of P Californicus from Corriganville park after a heatwave. P Subnitidius, solenopsis xyloni and molesta from black star canyon trail the night of a heatwave.
But going to the desert would have most likely turned out to be a jackpot.

Drew is referring to the Summer moonsoon fliers like honeypots and Novomessors. No jackpot this year. The doppler has been amazing everywhere except southern California.
At least it'll be less ants for Drew and I to care for haha.

Yea that’s what I meant. I was watching the desert weather but nothing. So I shared where I caught some of the queens this year. Haha! Yea there would be tons of queens to care for if the desert had monsoons.Remember what it was like back in the days when the desert used to get rain in the summer? Looks like we are finally getting that desert monsoon weather, there's a supercell northeastish of phelan off the 395. Heading there tomorrow night certainly

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.
However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:
Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).
Can’t make it today. Tommorow you said as well?Yup, should be a healthy mix of everything. The whole desert has lacked rain for months. The flights should be ridiculous

Yea. They normally fly the next day. It all depends on when it rained.I'm gonna go tonight as well as tomorrow night just in case because they might not fly tonight, they may fly tomorrow night but i don't want to miss either possibility
