I think there’s some in the Mohave desert, desert center (basically Joshua tree) and according to iNaturalist North Algondones Dunes as well a sighting near the Whipple mountains. (Double post)

Do you know of any besides Joshua Tree?

Yeah, they're all over the southeastern Mojave Desert.

High density here.

Good to know because as soon as there is enough rain, wether next week or in the next couple of weeks, I will hopefully be anting by chiriaco summit along cottonwood spring road.

Would .43 inches of rain be enough for nuptials? If not how much would be optimal?

Idk ur gonna have to ask someone like dspdrew. I think that he said earlier that 1 inch was barely enough to son the ground. However, I believe that the storms in the desert are very spotty, and could dump a lot of rain in one area and less in another, and the weather app is just getting the average.

That would make sense @CAantz…

I was watching a video earlier that mentioned a lot of cacti dying because we haven’t had a normal monsoon season. that's definitely effecting anting as well I presume.

Come on rain!!!

Last year's monsoon season in CA was the most active in my 10 years of doing this.

How does this year compare at this point? It’s been such a weird year…

Has anybody hosted a group collection trip?

I wouldn't mind paying an experienced collector to come with them on a run, like a paid safari without the killing of wild animals, or a chartered sport fishing boat.

Is there anywhere further south that's good. Seems like it's all on parks and protected land.

Outside of Joshua Tree national park it's fine, it's legal outside the boarders of the national park
