Cardiocondyla mauritanica have flown today. I found two queens, and put them with the lone queen I had already. They cannot found with a single queen.

Hi there! I went on a 6 month or so hiatus, in part due, and in part cause of the death of my colonies.

However, I went back to the Sierras, and restarted my collection, which is now as follows:

Aphaenogaster uinta, Camponotus vicinus, Camponotus modoc, Formica cf. aserva, Formica cf. micropthalma, Formica cf. manni, Formica subpolita, Formica cf. subaenescens, Lasius americanus, Manica invidia, Pogonomyrmex salinus, Pogonomyrmex sp. 1, Solenopsis validiuscula, & Solenopsis sp. 3 (new Sierra variant).

I can confirm San Bernardino Mountains, I caught over a dozen each of C. sansebeanus and C. vicinus. I also caught about half a dozen C. maritimus along the side of highway 330, in a turn out. I've sold most of my CA02 queens, just in time to make room in my test tube racks for them. So far this season has started very well

No, they flew a while ago I think. Didn't see or find more than those two queens, both of which were in wood.

Anyone still catching camponotus?

Some people are yes.

Would you know where people are catching them? I heard Los Anteles got 50 C. Sansabeanus at Griffith park.

Throughout the mountain ranges, there's still stragglers.

Any Formica/Lasius? I went on a trip a few days ago and couldn't find anything but a few Sansabeanus workers.

I found a Formica francoeuri queen a couple weeks ago, don't know about other places though.

Dang it. I’m missing every flight. . Where did you find them? I’m making a species spotting sheet. So I know which species live at which park or desert.

Hypoponera and Pheidole navigans should begin flying in the coastal OC suburbs soon. I imagine sometime in July Formica perpilosa will as well.

Yeah, I tried posting something from the gallery. Just told ZTY that it was in my gallery because it didn't embed.

A few days ago I found a dead Pogonomyrmex Californicus Dealate in a parking lot, is anyone catching live Pogonomyrmex queens yet?
