Right now I have Camponotus modoc, Camponotus quercicola, Camponotus sansabeanus, Camponotus semitestaceus, Camponotus vincus, Lasius cf. americanus, Prenolepis imaris, Solonopis xyloni, and Tetramoirum immigrans. Most of them are just queens.

 

Camponotus modoc 

 

My Camponotus modoc colony lost most of there workers after hibernation, right now they only have one worker and a few larva.

 

Camponotus quercicola

 

This is my star colony, they did lose a around seven workers after hibernation but they have a good amount of brood.

 

Prenolepis imparis

This colony is doing ok, they have one worker and were moved into a antscanada ant tower.

 

 

Other queens

 

I will post more updates about these once they get workers. (one of the tetras has workers)

Update 3/10/19

 

Camponotus modoc

 

The queen and worker died.

 

Camponotus quercicola 

 

The queen is laying eggs like crazy, I counted at least 20+ and some of them are turning into larva!

 

Prenolepis imparis 

 

These dug a small burrow and tightened the entrance so only the worker can get out.

 

Tetramoirum immagrins 

 

The only worker died.

 

Other queens

 

None of them have laid eggs. I won't be checking up on these for two weeks.

Nice, my quercicola is still in hibernation. Something is wrong with my semi; 30 eggs layed today!!!

Down to one worker, but a good amount of brood. 

 

Prenolepis imparis 

 

I think I see eggs! The worker became a replete.

I checked on them, most of them have eggs!

Camponotus quercicola

 

She lost all her workers and abandoned her brood.   Although she is alive on a piece of wood.

 

Camponotus sansabeanus

 

One egg, two larva.

 

Camponotus vincus

 

Five eggs.

 

Lasius cf. americanus

Prenolepis imparis

 

I'm almost sure this small colony has eggs. I think the reason these don't usually do well the next year is because they need new blood, so if I can get my hand on some queens (I missed there flights, because of school) I will be adding them in.

 

Solenopsis xyloni

 

Dead, she was most likely infertile.

 

Other queens

 

The Tetras have eggs, and I've been feeding the sugar water for a boost. The semi has no eggs, yet.

Dead.

 

Camponotus clarithorax

 

There are two queens and some brood. There was another queen but she was shredded up.

Around 60 workers, moved them from drews starter formicarium to a fortress.

Awww. The xyloni died? My invicta are doing well with 7 queens, 600 eggs and 50 workers. You should try invicta.

They are illegal to keep here in Cali. Also the xyloni was most likely not fertile.

Why would keeping them be illegal? They are already established in most, if not all of Cali.

By taking queens and or colonies you are doing nature a favor. No? Besides, there is no stopping the spread of S. invicta or S. richteri. Sure, we can slow their progress, but not stop them completely.

No, they squeezed through the ventilation hole, because they are Myrmentoma Camponotus . The hole was too small for larger Camponotus , so they are currently located in my desk, if you still want to buy, I’ll let you buy the entire desk and the colony for $400.
