Getting protein to a tiny Formica queen

Hi guys, any advice for getting protein to a Formica queen with only two tiny tiny workers, she's out of hibernation now and has dropped her first egg, I use chopped up cricket for my camponotus colony but they have lots of workers to process it, the formica are so tiny I don't think they will have much luck pulling away any chunks of cricket

I find that small colonies like that really enjoy fruit flies, small spiders, and other tiny prey.  Try to find insects not much bigger than the worker's head.  Anything larger is not only going to be intimidating for the callow nanitic workers, but also will mostly just end up as waste.

A single cricket leg will suffice. Better yet, some pre-killed fruit flies. Just freeze them to kill them.
