Myrmeocystus mimicus [001]

Summary (2019.03.08):

While walking around on an empty lot next door to my house I happened to see a small ant hill but no ants or entrance, I thought it suspicious so I dug it up with my hand shovel and sure enough, found a a founding Queen. At first I thought it was a S. xyloni queen a rather large one which had me suspicious, in addition her gaster was not fully black, it was more of a metallic gray look. Either way I was happy I had found a founding queen.

Later with pictures posted in chat it was indeed confirmed that it was a M. mimicus queen. Here are a few of the pictures posted in chat that gave us the ID.
