Am i the only one who gets really excited when this species gets brought up?
No.
Look any day it’s at least in the high sixties in February March and April. Look in forest edges and woodlands. Even urban yards. They tend to stay around trees but not in dense forests. Look under leaf litter and in open areas. Males outnumber the queens 200:1 during their flights.
When it's windy, I observe the males swarming queens before they can take off.

Am i the only one who gets really excited when this species gets brought up? It means spring is coming, and there is nothing I love more than spring. But to answer your question, generally they fly when it hits high 60's from my experience and your best bet on finding them is along forest edges.
Thank you so much!
