caught 15 queens during a massive nuptial flight after a tropical rainstorm. 3 queens near my apartment and the rest at school. However, they are already only down to 10 queens. Most of them are in different setups just to try. a few have laid eggs, can't tell with a few that are in tiny chambers.

I'm following this journal!

Proverbs 6:6-8 New International Version (NIV)

Go to the ant, you sluggard;
    consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander,
    no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
    and gathers its food at harvest.

I'm following this journal!

You should use the spoiler feature for your signature, it doesn't need to be that long.  You use this by typing "[.spoiler.] insert information here [./spoiler.]"; just remove the periods to get the code to work.

Yeah, way too long, I'll fix that, thanks for the suggestion!

Instead of periods, you have to use brackets [ & ].

Good luck with them!  These are awesome.

Have you had one bite you? I could feel when one of my Lasius queens nipped me, I imagine a bite from one of these would be somewhat painful.

I hurts a lot. Not like the "I'm gonna dieee" pain but more like " ow, ow, ow, ow" Not to mention they won't let go once they latch onto you.

At least one of these has a few workers now. Since I only have visibility on one of the queens, it is hard to tell if the others are even ALIVE. The on that I can see though, has 1 ADORABLE worker. It is sooooooooo tiny compared to the queen. The other workers should be on their way. I gave a few queens away. So now I'm left with about 3 queens.

I moved the visible queen into a boiling tube for better visibility. she wasn't too happy with that, but she managed. For some odd reason, she only has 3 workers. When their first worker batches should have around 20-30 workers.

I am currently down to 1 queen, the rest are all seemingly inactive, dead, or infertile. This queen has workers but she is progressing hilariously slowly. Carebara are seen to rival solenopsis in growth speed, but she currently only has 8 workers, even after around a month. She is still big and clumsy, but her next batch of workers should be arriving soon. She however, has a very stable egg production rate. Not a lot of eggs, but eggs nonetheless. Hopefully she'll speed up a bit soon.

How are they doing? Aren't they supposed to be really fast growing?
