Pretty good bet the lack of updates indicates that the ants have died.

Pretty good bet the lack of updates indicates that the ants have died.

According to Formiculture, this user hasn't been active since November. This means his colony isn't necessarily dead, he just hasn't logged on for quite some time. If he hasn't logged on since November, he probably hasn't seen the requests for journal updates.

Personally I would bet money on them being dead.

Why is this species so hard to keep? I've heard of some nomadic species that need colonies to attack almost weekly, but this species accepts normal foods it seems

So I am SouthernAnts18. I forgot my jave not replied. So i created another acount. This Colony did indeed Die. The queen Died after I think a little over 2 Months? It has been a while and I am kind of foggy on the specifics. But I will through out some possiblities. For one Neivamyrmex and other Army Ants are like Great White Sharks. Not knkwn to do well in captivity. That being said I do not think it is impossible. And I think we can "crack the code" given we keep trying.
The Queen and a Worker from this failed attempt are encased in A resin cabachon.
Sorry for not ubdating and I hope to attempt this again soon
