I don't know how to estimate how many ants?  There is a queen.  A winged queen? who just removed her wings.  A pile of larvae.

From my reading of posts people seem to prefer the Tar Heels products.  Is this what I should go with?  What type of formicarium should I get for them.

Thank you

Do a rough estimate. If you are going with THA, I highly recommend their Fortress nest. Also, what species of Camponotus are they?

Not sure what species yet.  Lots going on at my place so haven't gotten a good close up pic yet.

i contacted Tar Heels  He recommended the Stronghold which is a type of fortress, or a nucleus III

So I went with the Stronghold type.

Yeah, you pretty much can't go wrong with THA. Good luck with the colony.

Keep ordinary ants in extraordinary ways.
