1. Location of collection : Brownsville, TX 

2. Date of collection : 10/6/2018
3. Habitat of collection: Found walking around the building wall
4. Length : 1.5 cm
5. Coloration, hue, pattern and texture: dark shiny black
6. Distinguishing characteristics: See pic
7. Anything else distinctive : make hissing noise when picked up using tweezer
8. Nest description: N/A

9. Nuptial flight time and date : triggered by rain from previous day
 

Is it queen? Neoponera villosa? Collected several on the building wall and pavement. There were also many workers walking around and occasionally fighting each other on the ground. Wonder if it was nuptial flight and workers dispersed out.

dude, i care for those ants. i can tell you that she is definitely a queen of the genus NEOPONERA VILLOSA/BUGABENSIS
