Three majors, from three colonies in the yard. The really big one is really big - almost 4 mm long - and brave, you find them all over on the trails and will come out in force if you give them a protein treat (eggs, PB). I know of one or two nests of these on my < .3 acres. The smaller ones are vastly more abundant, but are not so brave as the big ones. They also like protein sources but they don't want to walk far to get them.
