This is the queen of the most common Pheidole that I find in the yard. They fly right after sunset (exactly - the time gets earlier from June through July to now, as the daylength changes - smart!) and will come to UV lights. Always after a rain earlier that day, sometimes after a rain the night before (assuming the rain at sunset time precludes flight that day and reboots the decision). On a good night, one can easily collect 5-25 of these with not too much effort.
