Neiv. opacithorax larvae

Neiv. opacithorax larvae

The yellow circle are the larvae in an early instar while some eggs seem to have yet to transition to larvae. The two red ovals around the gasters seem to indicate the attending workers are well fed. I have not noticed the larvae being placed on food-brood but are still in these clusters. I am not certain then of perhaps the larvae are being fed by attending workers directly. I hope to resolve this unknown. I am overall excited to know that larvae are present and seem to be healthy as does the whole colony overall. In the month I have had the colony I have yet to find one dead ant.
