2. Date of collection: July 14, 2018
3. Habitat of collection: Forest floor
4. Length (from head to gaster): 3-4 mm (workers, Queen not seen yet)
5. Color, hue, pattern and texture: Black
6. Distinguishing characteristics: N/A
7. Distinguishing behavior: like to hide
8. Nest description: Walnut
9. Nuptial flight time and date: N/A

Found these ants in a nut. There is brood with them so this is their nest. About 100 workers.

I would guess a species of Temnothorax


Aphaenogaster cf. rudis 

Tetramorium immigrans 

Tapinoma sessile

Formica subsericea

Pheidole sp.

Camponotus nearcticus
