We live in Massachusetts, and found this wandering along a potted plant in my kitchen with all the tropical potted plants we've had inside all winter.  Been very cold here lately so haven't seen much ant activity outdoors.  Actual color is about a reddish-brown, and ~7.4mm long.  Pretty hard to get a shot off within the test tube with the reflections and small size.  It's activity is pretty subdued (both before and after capture) compared to ants I typically see foraging. Thanks!

Thanks for the reply and bummer.  Was hoping to start my first colony, if a parasitic queen, guessing won't have much luck :(
