It's really difficult for me to read your posts, because they are so long and lack any real organization other than paragraphs.  I'd love it if you added section headers when you include more than 3 paragraphs, to make your long posts easier to scan.

 

Notwithstanding that, I believe it will take a concerted effort on the part of scientists to find solutions to these problems.

While we're on that topic, I think your writing would be much improved by the removal of your ellipses (...). You tend to use them for a pause, but they instead chop up your narrative, jolting us out of the story.  That pause may be there when you talk, but it's implied when you write so the ellipses are not needed.

 

I mean this as constructive criticism, not trying to put you down or anything.

And the pest control people Identified them as Solenopsis geminata?? Solenopsis I believe, geminata not so much. I would not trust most pest control field technicians to be able to tell their back sides from a hole in the ground.

If these ants are well kicking their gasters how are Argentine ants still so invasive? So far you haven't really mention the tactics employed by both sides.

oh very Interesting. I expect Argentine ants play the 'quantity over quality' card due to their large numbers but lack of advanced weaponry. Best defence is a good offence; if you can secure grounds for your queens before your enemies can, you can spread like wild fire no matter how high your on the chart.

 

Tactics and combat styles of ants are one of my favourite behaviours about them.
